A Word on the Others

Little has been recorded of the Deep Ones, Ar-kai, or Urreshi, though much has been said. It is difficult to separate what is reality from what is myth, what is legend, and what is just plain lies.

Most Ar-kai dwell or dwelled in Azmavor. Little news has come from that land since the Fall, so it is unknown how many, if any, still survive. The winged ones once numbered in the hundreds of thousands on the mountain peaks of Azmavor and Kaianor alike, though they haven’t been spotted in Kaianor since well before the Fall.

The Urreshi population has always been small, consisting of thirty tribes of less than a thousand each. They reproduce in litters, like cats, though few survive in adulthood. The Urreshi homeland is the Aqbatanan desert, though they are known to travel far and wide overland as bandits, merchants, or mercenaries.

No one knows where the Deep Ones have their home. Few are ever seen, and most scholars insist they do not exist at all, as the amount of eyewitness accounts has declined in recent years. In the past, they were spotted far from the coast, near the deepest parts of the Warding or Wyrding Seas, never near the Sea of Serpents. This is unfortunate, as the Sea of Serpents is most frequently trafficked in our region.
